A presentation from the webinar “New York State's ‘Get Smart' Campaign,” held on November 16, 2016. The presentation was given by Emily Lutterloh, MD, MPH, the Director of the Bureau of Healthcare Associated Infections at the New York State Department of Health. It examines the “Get Smart” program, the goals of which are to promote appropriate antibiotic prescribing, decrease consumer demand for antibiotics, and promote adherence to prescribed therapies. The presentation also looks at national and statewide data in evaluating the success of this outreach program.
