UHF 2020 Gala Goes Virtual, Features Health Care Workers Tribute by Brian Stokes Mitchell

Each year United Hospital Fund’s fall gala is one of New York's premier health care events, honoring exceptional area leaders for their contributions to health and health care. This unusual year will be no exception, except that the celebration is going virtual.

On October 5, from 7 to 8 p.m., UHF will present an online gala featuring a performance by Broadway star Brian Stokes Mitchell, who will perform two songs as a tribute to New York’s health care workers. The program will also feature a musical performance by some of New York’s own talented health care workers.

“The past seven months have been an extraordinarily challenging time. The COVID-19 pandemic has touched every aspect of our lives and challenged our region’s health care system as never before in modern history,” says UHF president Anthony Shih, MD. “But we have seen the great strengths and extraordinary commitment of our health care workforce, so this year our gala features a special tribute to our health care workforce as well as our three signature awards.”

The three awards to be presented at the gala are to New Yorkers who have shown extraordinary leadership.
