Greater New York Hospital Association Four

In 2005, the Fund and the Greater New York Hospital Association formed a partnership to improve the quality of care provided in hospitals in the New York metropolitan region. Since then, the Fund and GNYHA have implemented a series of successful and well-received quality initiatives involving more than 80 hospitals. This grant will build upon the quality improvement program through the following activities:

Strengthening clinical leadership and education through the Clinical Quality Fellowship Program, which is training mid-career physicians and nurses to lead and champion quality improvement and patient safety efforts within their hospitals;
Expanding the IMPACT (IMprove Processes and Care Transitions) to Reduce Readmissions Collaborative, currently involving hospitals and nursing homes, to include home care participation; and
Addressing the critical issue of antibiotic resistance by helping hospitals develop effective and comprehensive antimicrobial stewardship programs.
