United Hospital Fund provides valuable learning opportunities and practical experience to undergraduate and graduate students seeking to pursue careers in public health or health policy. Interns will gain direct hands-on experience working alongside seasoned professionals on defined projects, and will be able to apply classroom knowledge to relevant issues. UHF will provide on-site work space and computer resources, and will strive to include interns in team meetings, webinars, conferences, and relevant educational conversations with stakeholders, as appropriate.
The goals of the internship program are:
- To provide a unique learning experience in a nonprofit setting addressing critical health care issues in New York that is mutually beneficial to the intern and UHF’s current priorities;
- To collaborate with the intern on specific deliverables to be completed during the internship, providing an audience for internal presentation of the deliverables at the end of the session;
- To contribute to interns’ broader knowledge through exposure to and participation in internal discussions beyond the scope of the intern’s specific project, internal and external meetings and calls as appropriate, and discrete additional projects, time permitting.
These are paid internships; UHF works with colleges and universities regarding academic credit. Please check back often; specific project opportunities will be posted as they become available.
