Nursing Home Grants Program

Between 1998 and 2002 the Nursing Home Grants Program awarded more than $2 million in grants to 62 projects that address a wide range of health care issues for varied types of residents including those with dementia, AIDS, disabled younger adults, and cognitively intact elderly.

Grant programs sought to improve institutional culture and environment, pain management, and end-of life care; provide a range of recreation, alternative therapies, and nutrition services; offer training and skill development; and enhance the ability of staff, volunteers, and family members to care for residents.
