Information Technology

Today, high-quality health care depends on the ability of health care providers to share enormous amounts of data to better serve patients, clinicians, purchasers, and health care organizations. The Fund is leading statewide policy discussions on key health information technology (HIT) issues, helping to guide continued investment in HIT, and developing practical tools to assist providers in coordinating and leveraging their efforts.

Current/recent projects:

Promoting Interoperability - A series of grants and collaborative relationships aimed at improving the flow of information across disparate electronic health information systems.

New York State Health Information Technology Policy Summit - Supported by Fund staff and grants to the eHealth Initiative, a series of summits to identify issues and build consensus on an agenda that blends public and private action, intended to guide plans for a statewide information technology strategy.
